Win Passes to See Marion Cotillard's Oscar Nominated Performance in ' Two Days, One Night'

If timing is everything then we've got it all. This morning Marion Cotillard was nominated for an Academy Award for her performance in the film Two Days, One Night. This evening we have 5 admit-two passes to give away to that very same movie! I just need to know one thing, what has been your favorite performance of hers thus far? Send your answer to punchdrunkcritics@gmail.com for your chance to win, we'll be accepting entries until Sunday night at 6PM so get yours in now!

For the first time, the Dardenne Brothers have teamed with a major international star, Academy Award ® winner Marion Cotillard, and the result is another masterwork of humanism. Sandra (Cotillard) has just returned to work after recovering from an illness. Realizing that the company can operate with one less employee, management tells Sandra she is to be let go while the remaining employees will each receive a bonus. Over the course of a weekend, Sandra, often with the help of her loving husband (Fabio Rongione), races against time to convince each of her fellow co-workers to sacrifice their much-needed bonuses in order for her to keep her job. With each encounter, Sandra is brought into a different world with unexpected results while her fate hangs in the balance. The Dardennes have brought an extremely relevant social inquiry and turned it into a powerful statement on community solidarity.

Who Wants to Win the Soundtrack to 'The Gambler' AND Get Free Passes?

You read that right, the good folks at Paramount decided it wasn't enough just to let you see the flick for free, they also wanted us to make sure you could jam out on the way home with the official soundtrack!
Soundtrack Album On Republic Records
Jim Bennett (Academy Award®-nominee Mark Wahlberg) is a risk taker.  Both an English professor and a high-stakes gambler, Bennett bets it all when he borrows from a gangster (Michael Kenneth Williams) and offers his own life as collateral.  Always one step ahead, Bennett pits his creditor against the operator of a gambling ring (Alvin Ing) and leaves his dysfunctional relationship with his wealthy mother (Academy Award®-winner Jessica Lange) in his wake.  He plays both sides, immersing himself in an illicit, underground world while garnering the attention of Frank (John Goodman), a loan shark with a paternal interest in Bennett’s future.  As his relationship with a student (Brie Larson) deepens, Bennett must take the ultimate risk for a second chance…
We are going to be choosing six winners at random, this is a one-day contest that closes at 4PM today so get your entries in NOW! All you need to do is send your full name and preferred email address to punchdrunkcritics@gmail.com.

Win Passes to See 'Robocop' Before It's Released!

Regardless of how you feel about remakes, the trailers for the biggest film for the first part of 2014 have piqued the interest of almost all of us. I'll be the first to admit eating humble pie. Robocop, the 1987 version, is one of the movies that started my interested in the medium...so to say I was worried is probably an understatement. With each piece of media released, the promise of this version's cred increases.

In RoboCop, the year is 2028 and multinational conglomerate OmniCorp is at the center of robot technology. Overseas, their drones have been used by the military for years, but have been forbidden for law enforcement in America. Now OmniCorp wants to bring their controversial technology to the home front, and they see a golden opportunity to do it. When Alex Murphy (Joel Kinnaman) – a loving husband, father and good cop doing his best to stem the tide of crime and corruption in Detroit – is critically injured in the line of duty, OmniCorp sees their chance to build a part-man, part-robot police officer. OmniCorp envisions a RoboCop in every city and even more billions for their shareholders, but they never counted on one thing: there is still a man inside the machine.
We are happy to offer 30 lucky readers admit-two passes to see Robocop before it's released. First and foremost you need to be a fan of the PDC facebook page. Then send an email to punchdrunkcritics@gmail.com with what you think is the most important thing Robocop needs to have to make you a fan!

The screening will take place at 7PM on Monday, February 10th at the AMC in Georgetown. Please make sure you can attend before you enter. Good luck!

THIS CONTEST WILL END ON FEBRUARY, 5TH 2013. WINNERS WILL BE ANNOUNCED SHORTLY AFTER. THANKS!

Punch Drunk Critics' First Contest Begins this Week

So I've been trying to think of a way to unload some of my DVDs from my mountainous collection. Normally I sell them to Amazon for a small fee, but I thought about it for awhile and decided "Why not give them to our loyal podcast listeners"? Every month or so I do a purge of my collection, getting rid of the movies I no longer want in my collection. It helps me save space and keep my collection reflective of the films I truly like(Yes, that's important to me for some reason). So with that in mind, John and I came up with an idea for a contest. It won't be our only contest, but this is the first.

During Episode #12 of the Punch Drunk Podcast, we will play a random clip from the specific movie. You can't miss it. I know I might look and sound just like a movie star, but this clearly won't be me and it clearly won't be John. If you can identify the clip, email us at punchdrunkcritics@yahoo.com with the correct answer. The first to do so will win that DVD and an autographed headshot from one Mr. John Nolan. Ok, no headshot. It's really that simple. Think of it as our way of thanking you for listening to the show, and also your way of helping me keep my DVD collection nice 'n tidy.

So stay on the lookout for Episode #12 this week. Good luck!
